Arrive in Vientiane, you will be met and transferred to domestic airport for departure to Luang Prabang. Then travel to hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, you will take a city tour of the most beautiful temples (built in 13th - 16th century) as Ho Pha Kep, the former royal temple, now a museum with beautiful examples of Buddhist sculpture; Wat Si Saket, the oldest surviving temple in town; Pha That Luang, a gilded Buddhist stupa also the national symbol. Lao New Year (or Pii Mai) is the liveliest holiday celebrated in Luang Prabang from April 13 to April 15, the hottest part of the year. So water is the main symbol of its. People use water to wash their homes, Buddha images, monks and even soak friends and passers-by, which is considered as a luck. Then take traditional boat trip upstream on the Mekong river to visit the famous Pak Ou Caves (Tham Thing and Tham Phum) which houses thousands of Buddha statues since the 16th century, the caves were found by King Setthathirath.
