Luang Prabang, once a capital city of Laos kingdom, now a UNESCO World Heritage site is a remarkably well-preserved town, where Laos traditional architecture and Frech-infused style blend perfectly. A guided sightseeing tour this morning will show you some of the biggest highlights the city has to offer: the Royal Palace, Wat Mai, Wat Xiang Thong. Lunch at a local restaurant. Later in the afternoon, climb up Phousi mountain to a hill-top stupa and catch stunning views of a sunset over the town. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Alms-Giving - Kuang Si Falls

We rise early to join in the daily morning rituals of alms-giving before go shopping at the bustling morning market. Then take a scenic drive to the impressive Kuangsi waterfalls, stop by to ethnic minority villages. This three-tier falls cascade into many turquoise pools, which are perfect for a refreshing swim. Transfer back your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Pakse - Wat Phu - 4000 Islands

After breakfast, we transfer to our airport to take our flight to Pakse. On arrival, visit the temple ruins of Wat Phou, one of Lao’s only two UNESCO World Heritage sites. In the afternoon, we continue our journey by long tail boat to Si Phan Done, literally translated as 4000 islands, where we will have the rest of the day to relax or to explore the island. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

4000 Islands - Khone Island - Liphi Falls - Khone Phapheng

After an early morning breakfast, we hit Khone Island and begin re-tracing the French colonial times here as many remnants (old pier, stream railway, French buildings) stand still. Continue our sail to discover the hidden side of the “4000 islands” and visit the gorgeous Liphi waterfall, no more than 3km away from the Cambodian border, which is a must-see for waterfall-lovers. On the journey keep an eye out for the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins. Afterwards, return to Ban Nakasang and drive to the spectacular waterfall of Khone Phapeng - the largest in South East Asia, also known as the 'Niagara of the east'. Dinner on your own.
