Pakse - Ban Phalai Bok - Xe Pian NPA - Ban Ta Ong

Arrive in Pakse, you will drive to Ban Phalai Bok to meet our local guide. Then take the trek through the forest to Taong Village. Enjoy lunch along the trail. In the afternoon, you will reach the village and settle down. You will find out the traditional village by strolling around it of the Brow tribe and enjoy local food with the villagers in the evening. Home-stay or eco-lodge.

Ban Ta Ong – Ban Nongping - Ban Phalai Bok - Ban Kiet Ngong or Kingfisher Eco-lodge

  Take a short walk into the forest, head back to Palai Bok, trek up to the hill, pass Nongping village, travel to the Kingfisher Eco-lodge or Ban Kiet Ngong

In the early morning (about 5:00) you will take a short walk into the forest near the village where you can see some kinds of birds feeding from trees and may have chance to hear the calls or even spot the endangered Yellow-cheeked Gibbon. Then you will return to the village for breakfast with the villagers at around 8:30 am and head back to Palai Bok on a different route through the forest. An easy trek up to the top of a hill offers a spectacular view of the dense forest and valleys of Xe Pian National Protected Area. After that you will pass Nongping village and have lunch with the villagers. After lunch, you paddle along the small Nam Ta Eueng river. On arrival in Palai Bok, you’ll be transferred to the Kingfisher Eco-lodge or Ban Kiet Ngong (bungalows overlooking wetland) for the night.

Ban Kiet Ngong or Kingfisher - Elephant Riding - Pakse

After breakfast, we experience 2½ hours elephant riding from Ban Kiet Ngong to the archeological site of Phou Asa, which overlooks the Pha Pho wetlands (Xe Pian NPA), which are rich in bird life. Then have lunch and return to Pakse.
