The atmosphere around the Plain of Jars is creepy and solemn, similar to the feeling at Easter Island or Stonehenge. These stone jars come into view in groups, arranging from a single or a few to several hundred jars, lying at lower foothills nearby the central plain and highlands. It is said that a sobering reminder has been standing among the unknowable jars that we the human beings cannot understand. There is only one giant jar which is located at the site near to town and most attracted to tourists, has an impressed liberation of a human with knees bent and arms reaching to the sky.

The Plain of Jars gets the whole ingredients to arouse the mind's eye. It is believed to be created by Indian tribes for more than 2000 years blended with vagueness and legend, lacing with maneuver and misfortune. This is absolutely a peculiar collected works of primeval tubes across the countryside of Xieng Khuang province. These sites, and their right of entry paths, are defined by red-and-white marker stones which wait on the white side to keep away from a horrible shock.

Plain of Jars of course is the area being most visited by travelers. Sites 1, 2 and 3 form the bases of most tour loops, especially the first stop called Site 1 is a must-see for everyone to observe the beautifully decorated jars so far.
